What stays on the device

Normal document capture, page processing, Apple Vision OCR, library search, PDF creation, and local PDF tools happen on your iPhone. DocSnap is not a cloud document-storage service and does not require an account.

Original scan images and original PDFs are not uploaded for DocSnap AI processing. Signatures and PDF passwords are also excluded from that AI flow.

What is sent when you choose AI

DocSnap AI is optional, off until you choose it, and requires internet. For a summary, question, extraction, translation, classification, or naming task, the recognized OCR-derived text required for that operation is securely transmitted for processing.

This is not the same as saying nothing ever leaves the device or that all AI runs locally. The useful privacy claim is the narrower, accurate one: the original page images and PDF are not uploaded for DocSnap AI, and text is sent only after an explicit AI action.
